Time to Reflect

02 of September 2010

It has been a while since I last posted on this BLOG. The main reason I have been extremely busy, and often by the end of the day just don’t feel much like writing, but I am going to try to get back into the habit again, as it has always proven to be very good for me.

In the past few months I have done a lot of reflection. Recent events in my personal life have caused this to happen. Since May, I have know 5 people who have passed on from this life, one extremely young and very close to me.

What is it about death that causes us so much pain? The Buddha taught the answer to this, the answer is that our suffering comes because death makes us realize that nothing is forever. We never really mourn the death of a person, we more the loss of them in our lives. And this attitude causes us to suffer and be unhappy. In some cultures this goes on for YEARS!

Should we really mourn the dead? Do we honour them by doing so? I don’t think so, in fact I know in my heart that we are doing them an injustice.  Death is merely leaving this plain of existence for another. There really is no death!

So why do we feel so bad, and for so long? Because we have been taught to fear the phenomenon of death since we were small children.  We were told that if we did not lead a good life, God who loves us, would damn us to hell. The thing that amazes me is we still believe this crap. Crap that was taught by man, in a effort to control man.

There is no tragedy in death for the departed, only for those left behind who will miss them.  The tragedy is never in death itself, only because of the beliefs we have about life, that cause us to never really live!

Remember the only meaning in life is what YOU give it, and the only purpose is to be happy. Don’t believe it if someone tells you something different. They are trying to sell you something.

Martial Arts people are some of the most generous people I know. That is why I am doing this blog post. Please read this article below and follow the links provided. It is your chance to make a difference.

Hello Everyone,

If you look to the right of this article you will find a donation button to help a good friend of mine in Romania with medical expenses. I met this lady about 6 months ago and she helped me to travel to her country to introduce the art of Kyusho Jitsu to martial artists there.

Approximately one week ago from the date of this article she took ill with a serious liver condition. Her life is currently in danger, however the situation is improving. I arranged on Wednesday of this week for a helicopter airlift to Bucharest to save her life. Without this she had no chance for survival. However the problems still exist. The medical system in Romania is very poor and very expense. The economy in the country is in ruins.

Currently I am fund raising and taking donation to help the family with these expenses. Any and all donations are welcome and ALL the money is sent directly to the family. If you would like to help please use the donation button to the right of this article. All donors will have their name added to a card for Miky which Master Art will personally deliver to her when he returns by request of her family as soon as she regains consciousness.

Thank you for your generosity in this matter! Please see UPDATES below.

Sunday July 18th 2010 As of this writing Miky is in stable, but serious condition in Bucharest. She is currently on a machine which is cleaning her blood since her liver is all but shut down. This is LIVER DIALYSIS which will help to regenerate the liver. The cost of this procedure is 3500 euro which is NOT covered by insurances. Please follow the link provided for more information.

To donate to this cause please follow this LINK.

Also note 100% of all Kyusho DVD and eBook sales will go to this cause.

My problem cannot be solved

07 of April 2010

It has been about a month since I last posted here. The reason is that I have been extremely busy. It is not because I have run out of things to say.

Recently I heard someone say “I don’t think my problems can be solved.” Now, this is never true, but at times the problems we face in our reality can seem to be insurmountable. What is the truth? Any problem you have cannot be solved with the same mind that created it.

What does this mean? All problems are created in our world by thinking in a certain way.  When we discover that we have a problem will try to solve the problem with the same ideas and thinking processes that caused the problem to begin with. This simply will not work.

Albert Einstein once said that “insanity was doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result.” What I am referring to above really is insanity. So what is it you need to do? Step back and take a honest look at the problem or issues at hand. How did it come about. Take responsibility that your thinking influences what happens in your reality. Once this is done, calm the mind and solutions will begin to present themselves. The worst thing you can do is run around trying to put out fires. Panic never solves anything. But a calm mind can solve any problem.

Sit down close your eyes and take 10 deep breaths. Ask yourself what this issue will mean in 5 days, 5 weeks and/or 5 years. Get a new prospective.

No problem can ever be solved with the mind that created it.

Newsflash!!!!

01 of March 2010

Newsflash! Life is a terminal disease……

Wow, it really is…..No matter what any one of us chose to think. Death is as certain as birth. There is absolutely no way around it, nor will their ever be.  The time we spend in these physical bodies in finite. And we have no idea how long this might be.

With this mind, my question then is, “why do we take it so seriously?”

No matter what your ‘belief’ system is. If you think we re-incarnate, or go to some form of heaven, even perhaps ‘nothing’….Why so serious? Everything we do becomes history and most of it will be forgotten. What is the big deal? Should be not enjoy the time we have here instead? YES WE SHOULD!

There is only one reason why we don’t enjoy our lives and live to the fullest. We fall into the traps of MIND.  Our reality is created by our thinking, and the constant stream of irrelevant questions and incorrect interpretations of the mind cause us to see the world in the wrong sense. We feel trapped and limited as we look at our ‘reality.’

As I have said so many times the mind exists in the past and tries to write the future from there.  The problem is that it is not disciplined. It is like letting a 2 year old child run a life.  By taming and taking control of the mind it becomes a powerful tool, one that can be used to create the reality of your choice.

The only way to quiet the mind is with mediation. The benefits are worth the effort required 1000 fold.  The results you will see in your lfe for the small amount of time invested with shock you.

Change the way you think and the things in your world will change.

On Auto Pilot

18 of February 2010

Are you living on auto pilot? If you are like 97% of the people on this planet you are. What do I mean by this? You are living your life with the Mind in control, just moving through each day, asleep at the wheel, experiencing very little, not in control.

Here are some example of auto pilot.

  • Do you remember what you had for dinner last night?
  • Do you remember the entire drive to work today?
  • Do you remember brushing your teeth last night?
  • What you did before bed?
  • The list will go on and on

Auto pilot is a way of life and it is OK that some things work this way, but not everything! The average human has 70,000 plus thought each and every day, but they are the same ones as yesterday. How do you change this?

The robot that exists within your mind, like the EGO will automatically take control of a task(s) once learned. You need to undo this, and this is done by becoming alert to the situation. As an example as you are driving to work today simply take control back from the robot and drive in awareness of what is going on around. Watch as you drive the car! Driving is a great experience as we should be present when it happens. For most of us the robot is driving until such a time as something goes wrong.

We can take control back of our lives by learning to watch, be the observer. This is the ultimate awareness. Life is far to amazing to allow it to past unnoticed. There is an old saying that there is no sadness in death. The only sadness is that the person never really lives.

Living moment to moment is the way to love the life you have. Anything else will not bring you happiness.  Work on it, you will be happy you did!

The only moment that matters

21 of January 2010

Mind exists only in the past. We can also call this mind our ‘ego.‘ This is the place where our false self image is created. We search the past and find who we are. This definition is not a positive, empowering definition either. It is negative and self destructive.

We allow the mind to control our lives by it’s living in the past. Even as we dream of the future this is done with references to the failures of our past.  We wonder why the Law of Attraction disappoints us, let our references and points of attraction are all wrong.

The Only Moment that Matters is this one, right here and now.

Some will say this is an unrealistic view of life. I say the opposite. Looking at the past is unrealistic, it is gone and will not return. If you bury the past, and a great part of the ego with it, you will have a wonderful future.  Mind can only exist in the past. It shuffles though thousands of memories, most of which are inaccurate and distorted.  Even pleasant memories will cause pain and suffering because we want those times to return. All the while life is passing in front of our eyes, but we have a do not disturb sign on our doors.

All the suffering that is being experienced on our planet is the result of poor thinking.  This groups hates that group because you hurt us 500 years ago. Get over it! Wars are created with type of political controlling thinking.  What is the solution? People need to focus on the present.

You cannot be angry in the present. To be angry you must reference a past event. You cannot be depressed in the present either. The only emotion that can be found in the present is joy.  Joy, happiness and contentment need no past references.  So if you empty the mind and let go of the past and therefore the ego who are you? You are awake! You are the same person as always, you are also no one.  What is the most important thing? That you are the CEO of XYZ company, with a million dollar house and a Ferrari? Or that you are happy? Experience will show that EGO Centered People are not happy. But there is great news in this also. You can be CEO of XYZ and have all that, but still live in the present. The difference is you will love the experience!

I am not saying this is easy and does not take work. The resulting change in your life will make it worth while.  As I write this it is not something I am been studying, this is experience. It has changed my life in far less time than I ever imagined.

Problems that don’t exist

20 of January 2010

People love to worry! The only reason for this is that they are not in control of their own thoughts on a day to day basis.  When the mind is in control, a person life can be a living hell.

The mind loves to create problems. It does this because it’s function is to think. When it runs out of things that are useful to contemplate it begin creating problems for it to solve.  We perceive there may be a difficulty ahead and the mind runs wild with possibilities and our stress levels go through the roof! When I was a child my mother would often tell me “Don’t make a mountain out of a mole hill.” But I always did.

When worry arises there are 2 possible actions that can be taken. One is that there is something that can be done about the problem at hand. If something can be done, do it right away. Once action is taken the need for worry and the mind running wild looking for solutions is over. The second possibility is that there is nothing you can do about the problem. If this is the case then there is no need for worry. Again the mind can be silenced.

Worry is a hidden killer. It stresses the body and mind beyond what is reasonable. Plus there is no need for it. Using the above example the mind can be trained to let things go. There is no need to address anything that has no importance, and most of what the mind does from day to day is of no importance.

I say it often but learning to quiet the mind is the key to inner peace and happiness. There is nothing more important than being happy.

We are not Free!

13 of January 2010

Whenever we think of freedom the status of our countries come to mind. Living in Canada and and the United States the freedom of the nations is well known. But this is not this freedom I am referring to.

External freedom is one thing, and it is an important thing, but far more important is internal freedom, a freedom that can only come when the mind is the slave and not the master.  For most people on this earth the mind is the master and it is running wild.

You find yourself awakened in the middle of the night with the mind running wild. Sometimes it is going over the events of the previous day, other times it is thinking about an event coming in the future, worse yet it is worrying about this, that or the other thing. Totally undisciplined and out of control.  Yet we allow this to continue, either because we believe it cannot be changed, or we are just too lazy to do it.

Imagine being in a very hot room. The temperature is unbearable.  You go over to the thermostat and turn on the air conditioning. You wait and wait but it just does not seem to be working.  It seems to be getting hotter so you remove some article of clothing and compensate for the temperature increase, you learn to tolerate the conditions. The real solution is to leave the room, and you can always leave the room!

This is just like the way we are with our minds. We learn to tolerate the way things are, then the mind will naturally accelerate it’s behavior and things will be worse again.  The only solution is to quiet the mind and silently take control. Note I am saying silently. You cannot beat the mind into submission, you must dominate it will deliberate thoughts, and not acknowledging the trash thoughts that come into existence.

The mind loves to play VICTIM. Victim almost seems to be it’s natural state. It will reflect on the past to give you a 1000 reasons why the future will be do different. You create a desire in your mind and something inside says “don’t be stupid, you can’t do that. ” The problem is you listen to this mind and not your heart.

There have been many Buddha’s in our world since the time of the historical Buddha Gautama. Many enlightened men and women have lived and do live on our planet. A Buddha is not born they are self created by disciplining the mind, thus finding peace and understanding within themselves. This is within reach of every person, if they will take the time and effort to start the journey.

So many people make other peoples lives their mission and ignore there own life. We are famous in the west for interfering with other countries who are happy within themselves and don’t want our help. We look at their ways of life and decide we need to fix them. Yet we ignore ourselves, thinking we can change the world without changing US first.  You cannot give something you do not have. We love to make judgment about others happiness, never reflecting on our own lives. This is not being selfless it is being egotistical.

Like all people on this Earth you create your reality. If you are tense, stress, overwhelmed and unhappy it is of your doing and no one else’s. You create your world and your reality with your dominate thoughts, and you do it every moment of every day.

“Change the way you look at things and the things you look at will change.”

Are you happy with your reality?

The Pine Cone and Life

01 of January 2010

It looks like a Pine Cone and is inside the brain of every person on the planet. It is call the Pineal Gland and is part of your endocrine system. However it has been ignored by doctors and our culture for thousands of years.

It is found at the center of the brain. It is a small gland about the size of a grape, with amazing power and ability. For most of the population it is close to non functioning. For a few it is in full swing.  The hierarchy of all religions are aware of it, but don’t talk about it. The medical world uses it as a reference point when scanning for tumors. But this small gland is something we all want to awaken because it will change your life.

If you want to find the gland it is located in the middle of the brain, directly behind the 3rd eye. The 3rd eye is the mystical all seeing part of the human body. It is the connection with source energy, like a transmitter / receiver to the higher self and the energy of the universe. It is the center of our 6th sense.

The pineal gland has a few functions that we are all familiar with. When we are falling asleep it kicks in and produces melatonin and serotonin, as well as a chemical called DMT (Dimethyltryptamine). This chemical is responsible for your dreams at night. Dimethyltryptamineis a strong hallucinogen and is considered to many people to be the spirit molecule. Why do I say that people over the centuries have know about this gland? Because it’s symbolism is found in all religions and governments.

The image of the shape of the Pine Cone can be seen in a giant statue at Vatican City, on the head of the enlightened Buddha, the staff the Pope carries etc, etc. A little research and you will see this symbol everywhere, along with other “sacred geometry.” It has also been seen in eastern religions by the placing of jewels on the forehead. This practice goes back to ancient Egypt.

Pine at Vatican City.

What has caused this important gland to become dormant in most of the population? Diet….the water we drink, our toothpaste and various other products. These products have cause the calcification of the gland. But this is all reversible. One of the biggest enemies of the Pineal Gland is Fluoride, which is a highly toxic chemical added to our water and toothpaste, along with other products, to strengthen our teeth. Fluoride is a deadly chemical, yet our governments will say the levels are acceptable. How can their be an acceptable level of an unacceptable substance. Fluoride has been outlawed in most of Europe for decades.

The solution is to drink distilled water, and to use toothpaste without fluoride present. There is no evidence that it helps your teeth. Aside from clogging up your pineal gland fluoride damages the lungs, digestive system and the eyes. It also causes cancer. Iodine will help eliminate fluoride from the body. Look for a good supplement or eat lots of kelp.

The pineal gland has other interesting attributes. Inside it is mostly water, which is a conductor, but it also resembles the EYE. It contains the same ‘cones’ that they seeing eye does. Interesting, isn’t it?

To the ancients the Pineal Gland is the seat of the soul. It’s reference in ancient literature goes far beyond the scope of this essay. To awaken it only requires some dietary changes and some meditation. I will go into this aspect more (meditation) later.

A life of Freedom or Bondage

31 of December 2009

Osho : “Beware of that. There are people who are attached to wealth and there are people who are attached to poverty. But it is the same attachment.”

The phenomenon of attachment is a very difficult concept for the western mind. In this quote above Osho discuss both wealth and poverty as being the same attachment.  What does this mean? Understanding the Law of Attraction will help. First you will always get what your predominant thoughts are. If you think about bills, money and lack this is what you will create in your world. A great example of this are sales people who produce the same amount of commission in good times and in bad times. They make the amount they believe they are worth. Thus there point of attraction and their attachment.

I once worked in a area of our city that was poverty stricken. These people, most of the were multi-generationally poor. Why? Because this is what they believe they are worth and thus what they will attract into their lives. Those who break this cycle do so by changing their belief system and thus their lives.

The same is true for the rich. You also see much multi-generational wealth. Look at the Trump family as an example. It is because they are better people that they are rich? No, they simply have a different view of life and of themselves. Law of Attraction will provide the rest. So what is attachment?

Attachment comes when the object in question, money and wealth in this example, becomes and driving force in one’s life. There are millions and millions of poor people in the world who are very unhappy, but their are some who are extremely happy. The rich people fall into the same boat, they are both unhappy (the majority) and happy.

A poor person is attached to poverty when they are obsessed or driven by their poverty but do not really ever do anything about it. They gripe and complain about having no money, all the while wasting what they have and not looking for improvement in their lives. They believe they are victims of society and have been give a bum rap. The poverty conscious will lose sleep over their money problems.

The rich are no different. They have lots of money, but are obsessed that they might lose it someday (and they will this is called death).  They worry and fret over their money and that someone is going to rip them off. They also lose sleep over their attachment. Either attachment is the same, both produce a sad life.

Now I do know one person who is very rich, not attached and very happy. But this is because he is ‘centered.’ He is a very spiritual man, a god loving and god centered man. If he were to lose his fortune he would smile and say, “time to rebuild!” He is not attached to either poverty or wealth. Thus he lives a life of joy.

Law of Attraction will say to be wealthy you must let go of your attachment to poverty (the way you think about money). When you do this your situation will change dramatically. However if you then become attached to wealth your life will still be miserable! What is the solution? Once again I am going to point you to meditation and calming the mind.

There is a madman running wild in your life. He or she is the untamed mind. Take charge and use the techniques we have discussed in the previous essays and quiet the mind. As the mind becomes calm and centered you will begin to feel joy. From joy and happiness you can create the life of your dreams.

We are truly what we think!
